Sarah Ferguson: Meghan Markle fiancee Prince Harry’s elephant passion | Life | Life & Style

  • Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, 58, who is aunt to Prince Harry, 33, doesn’t only share Meghan Markle’s fiancé’s red hair.
  • The Duchess of York shares an interest in elephant conservation with Prince Harry, who has spent years helping to protect the animals.
  • Harry, together with brother Prince William, 35, supports the Tusk Trust, a British non-profit organisation that protects African animals, including elephants.

Harry’s aunt involves herself with worldwide elephant conservation cause, which is close to her nephew’s heart. But is Sarah invited to Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding?

The pair are both committed to looking after these exotic animals, it seems.

Back in July 2016, Harry worked on an elephant translocation process with African Parks, an organisation he was later made president of in December 2017.

Now it seems the Duchess of York shares Harry’s passion for elephant conservation, as she has flagged in a series of social media posts.

Today she posted a photo of an elephant sculpture on her Instagram account.

“I am delighted to be a member of the 101 Club presented by@elephantfamily and @niravmodijewels,” she wrote in a post.

“The purpose of this Club is to put a much needed spotlight on endangered Asian elephant conservation.”

“I am thrilled to be paired with number 57 of 101 brightly painted elephant sculptures that are on public display in Mumbai for a month.

“Funds from selling these sculptures will go directly to securing wildlife corridors for their wild cousins.”

It is rumoured Meghan also shares this passion for elephant conservation.

This was suggested in February 2017, when Meghan stepped out wearing an elephant bracelet after spending two months with Prince Harry.

Further expressing her passion for the conservation of elephants, Sarah Ferguson took to Twitter.

She reposted a black and white elephant photo originally posted by Elephant Family, an NGO dedicated to saving endangered Asian elephants.

It read: “Please help us spread the word and #vote for these gorgeous #Endangered #Asianelephants They need all the love they can get if they are to survive in an increasingly crowded world.”

It was recently questioned whether Sarah still lives with ex-husband Prince Andrew.

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced in 1993, but do the pair still share a home together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor?
